Director, Academic Technology Services

Position Summary

Reports to the Associate Dean, Academic Technologies at Emory University Libraries. Collaborates with academic leaders, IT departments, research units, and administrative divisions to formulate a vision for the use of Library & IT resources in the academic program of the university. Assesses, introduces, and manages broad-scale deployment of academic technologies, developing and leading strategies to establish priorities, goals, objectives and standards for services that support the campus at large. Manages and supports technology-rich advanced teaching and learning environments. Develops and implements service level agreements and authors business cases for new and innovative technology services. Conducts annual surveys and consultations to evaluate existing services, plan improvements, and provide directions for future technology and service adoption university-wide. Manages capital, human and operational resources, as well as budgets to provide services to faculty and students. Provides leadership for special or cross-functional projects and activities. Represents the Library and Information Technology Division within the University as well as with vendors. Partners with vendors and equipment manufacturers to influence product development and create opportunities for piloting and testing new technologies. Gives presentations at regional and national conferences on the work of the university as well as library and academic technology topics. Performs related responsibilities as required.
