Emory's Open Access Publishing Fund

Due to university budget constraints, the Open Access Publishing Fund has been closed for the foreseeable future. We are proud to have supported 448 articles through the OAPF since 2013. If you have any questions, please email openemory@listserv.cc.emory.edu.

Helpful Alternatives

  • Check out Emory Libraries’ OA publishing agreements to see if we have an agreement with your publisher that allows you to publish OA with no author-facing fees. For example, you can publish an OA article in any Cambridge University Press journal through 2027 without having to pay an article-processing charge.
  • If you have coauthors at other institutions, ask them whether assistance is available there.
  • Depending on publisher permissions, we may be able make your final accepted manuscript (after peer review but prior to publisher formatting) available in OpenEmory. Please email us to inquire about this option.
  • The Directory of Open Access Journals is an excellent resource for finding fully open journals in your discipline, and many journals in this index do not charge any author-facing fees. To find them, follow these instructions:
    • Go to doaj.org.
    • Search for keywords in Subject.
    • Click “Without fees”.
  • If you are a member of the Emory College of Arts and Sciences and are seeking more substantial financial support for an OA monograph/book, please see the Fox Center's Digital Publishing in the Humanities site.

Need help with dataset publishing?

Emory's Research Data site has helpful information on this topic. Here, you can find help with selecting an appropriate repository external to Emory to deposit and share your research data. You can also find information about our own internal data repository, Dataverse at Emory.
